Modern Slaves

I never realized being a survivor could be so much work. I didn’t have a hard time speaking out about my child abuse, even though it cost me to lose my family. I didn’t have a problem pointing out my domestic abuse partners, even though I was aware that at any moment they might hunt me down, but there was one I couldn’t tell. I couldn’t share too much. Too many powerful people were involved and that fear was just too much for me to risk. I’ll just tell you that my name is: Dai, I’m an American and have been in the US for nearly 28 years. I am 30 years old and for the first time, I’m going to share “my story” of human trafficking.
